Free Project file: Camera Lens

Yesterday I played around in After Effects to find a way to re-create a Camera Lens without any plugins or 3D Renders. And this is what I came up with! the Lens is made only by Solids and Nulls, and without any third-party plugins. The inspiration for the method used is from Andrew Kramer’s “The Ring” Tutorial, where he talks a bit about the possibilities of using only solid layers and masks.

The Iris Blades are setup to open and close realistically, you just need to play around with the keyframes a bit, and I am sure you can figure it out.
