Say Hello to Steffen
Steffen is our new übercool motion designer. Not only is he really wicked with his wacom tablet – he is also well known for his Dj’ing skills and is hosting his own regular night out called Mind Your Head. Damn we are going to throw a STUPID party soon!
We forced him to move (Batman style!) from the cold northern rims of Aalborg city, where he had been working for the advertising agency SHRPA for the last four years, to join us here in the warmer and much friendlier part of Denmark: Odense with the STUPID team.
Say hello to him and look forward to all the cool stuff he will be doing with us.

Some weeks ago we had a deadline-yesterday kind of thing for a new VH1 show called Dan’s (The host is Dan Rachlin, which hopefully gives some perspective to the name…)
This is what we came up with, and given the short deadline, I think it worked out fine. Hecq did the music.

This is nothing but brilliant! Take one of the most mesmerizing voices in danish television and film history Jørgen Leth. Blend it with the musical genius of Mikael Simpson and finally ask the talented film score producer Frithjof Toksvig to polish and perfect the mood of it all, and then you have it. The best Spoken Word I’ve heard since Dan Türell’s post mortem release almost 10 years ago… Can’t remember it’s name now… Anyway, this release is so much more than Spoken Word.
Give it a listen and let me know what you think? Am I biased here by prior releases from these people, or am I right about it being brilliant?

Money Money Money
About a year ago, I stumbled upon these new design suggestions for our currency bills and at first I really liked them and downloaded a copy to my inspirations folder. Today they popped up again, and I couldn’t help thinking – once again – that a design like this would add some sparkle to all the business being done out there. I don’t know if they could last for another 50 years though….

TV 2 Zulu has just gone through a complete overhaul. The presentation design is completely new, the sound design has been tweaked and optimized and they have created a bunch of new crazy idents. Well done! (Thanks to Fryd for the preview.)
Enter at Brandts
Enter. New and upcoming talents at show at Kunsthallen Brandts. The exhibition is a new platform for young and talented artists in contemporary art.
During the last ten years galleries and collectors have to some degree concentrated mainly on the very young artists. Therefore the market have turned out to be of great matter for the success of the young artists. With the exhibition Enter the art institution Brandts contributes to an alternative and supplementing platform that comments the market, which in doing so, will determine the agenda for artistic success.
The exhibition will open next thursday, and you can see some of the contributing artists here (It’s the press section, but what the heck! I couldn’t find any pics on the exhibition page)
Anders, Come Back!
Anders is back in school for a month and we miss him sooo much that we just had to send him flowers.
He got them in the middle of class and as you might have guessed, we knew his favourite color. As he said: “A bit gay, but I looovveeee it”.
He will be back at the studio in late october.
Dear Adobe
A lot of designers out there is pretty passionate about the design software they are using. So passionate that they actually take the time to give some usable feedback to Adobe. I am not sure they can ignore this. They ought to listen.

The maritime-minded guys at STUPID went sailing today. Baune and Kammersgaard had to put on very gay leather gloves to protect their fragile computer fingers and Thomas was hoisted 18 meters up the mast. This turned out to be a unique opportunity to negotiate future work load balancing. Thank you Anders, for taking us for a ride!

Here’s the brand new spot for the Odense Bulldogs hockey team. When we were commissioned to create another three of these, we decided to redesign it all and build and animate the characters completely in a 3D environment. This gave us a lot of creative freedom and flexibility in terms of camera angles and variation, and at the same time it will be much easier to do the upcoming versioning and future spots.
The coming spots will contain both Zamboni’s, streakers and more babes.
