Syddansk Universitet (SDU)
This is a montage of 19 different videos, that we made for Syddansk Universitet (SDU) if you are interested, please visit sdu.dk to watch all of them.
Syddansk Universitet (SDU), Needed something to spread the word about their awesome engineering classes, they wanted something that could be shared on sites like Facebook. So they asked us to create 19 different videos, 1 for each of their engineering classes.
Each video is a 1 minute interview with a student, who talks about his/her specific class, how it works, why they like it and why you should choose their class. During the interviews we have illustrated exactly what the student is talking about, and animated these illustrations to fit the interviews.
During this project, we made over 200 different illustrations by hand, which was all animated afterwards.

Inspired by Robin Hood
A few month ago, we at Stupid Studio saw the most awesome title sequence for the 2010 Movie, Robin Hood. And thought to ourselves, could this kind of style be done digitally, and maybe even automatized? So we spent a few hours, trying to figure out how this could be achieved, and we got pretty close if you ask us, ofcourse it doesnt look nearly as awesome as it would if you manually painted each frame like Prologue did with Robin Hood. But by applying our style, you can get pretty close, in only a few minutes.
We tested the style on our very own OFF09 Trailer.

Today I was outside walking for an hour or so with my new 550D. And this is what I shot! Unfortunately the sun was very bright and mixed with the snow reflecting the light, it was some reasonably bad light conditions, but Im pretty pleased with some of the shots, and bear in mind, all shots were handheld, and in this freezing weather it ain’t easy to keep it steady! Footage was shot with the 18-55mm Kit Lens, and in 720p 50FPS mode, even though I just bought the Canon 50mm /F1.8 Prime lens, which I will use for future filming. But In my opinion the Kit lens does a pretty decent job in bright light though.

Yesterday I played around in After Effects to find a way to re-create a Camera Lens without any plugins or 3D Renders. And this is what I came up with! the Lens is made only by Solids and Nulls, and without any third-party plugins. The inspiration for the method used is from Andrew Kramer’s “The [...]
