Hello World
Today we launched the first incarnation of the STUPID website and we have such a great feeling in our little round bellies.
The site will be used to publish the rants and raves of our lives – Not only creatively, but also the visually prominent highlights of our stupid ideas and thoughts will go up here.
We would love if this place could evolve into a small creative community, so please write comments on our stuff, send us emails, complain about poor navigation, become a part of our network, and if you’re into nerdy stuff, see if you can find any bugs.
Guidance for the unknowing
The site is build on ideas from the weblogging world. This means that post are ordered chronologically and are divided into sub-categories. On some posts it is possible to write a comment or read more than the visible excerpt: Look just below any of the posts for a “Add comment” or “Continue Reading” link.

At the bottom of the page you can read older posts by clicking the link “Previous Posts“.
Go have fun.

Ingen kommentarerCheerio sweet christmas
It’s getting cold here in Denmark and we are actively preparing for a good long dreamy, pork-filled christmas hibernation. In the meantime we have created these sweet crispy christmas idents for TV 2… They will be up here very soon – We just have to wait for them to premiere on the TV 2 mothership.
The music is made by the fantastic blip-blop-i-love-my-laptop musician Tobias Winberg and the tune is taken from a complete album that we are currently compiling. STUPID will be involved in the cover design and publishing, but that’s a completely differente story.
Tally ho ho.
(The idents were up here shortly, but we had to take them off because they had not yet been aired on TV 2… Bummer)

This has been a sideproject for some time now, and we have all our fingers crossed that the final result will be published so soon now… We have never known busyness to this extend, before we met the people at Jack and Jones!…
In April they asked us to help them create a new graphic style for their in-store billboards and window displays. The project was kicked of with a creative workshop and since then it has been one small step at a time… But here you can have a look at some of the sketching, scratching and drawing. The final images are close to final result, that we hopefully can publish here shortly.
Anyway, some of it should be out now as their new shopping bags, and hopefully more will follow soon.

New era in Camera Dolly design
We all knew it. It was only a matter of time.
STUPID is about to revolutionize the way photographers and skilled cameramen approach photoshoots. Make way for the the brand new NitroDolly!
We have invested the better part of our savings and pension in a brand new Nitro driven car, making us capable of doing a 0-50 km/h camera-pan just below 2 seconds.

We are currently registering NitroDolly as a STUPID trademark, so as our army of lawyers say: “No one dare to copy this guys, the billions will be rollin’ in soon…“
Ingen kommentarerHalloween in Tivoli
Daniel just created this spooky halloween sponsorclip for Tivoli and TV 2 Zulu. Unfortunately the two rides in the background had to be removed in the TV version – All that legal stuff… However, this is the version we like the best.

What’s On?
Once again the quarterly music calendar from Franck A is out and it will be the symbol of a hard time to come – Franck A is closing everything down for the first 3 months of ´07 for a total makeover… But how about our latté guys? Have you seriously thought that through?

Lectures at DGH
In the following months I will be giving a couple lectures at The Graphic Arts Institute of Denmark (DGH). The first lecture will focus on graphic design for television and the creative workflow in this environment, but later on there will be much more focus on the more creative parts of motion design. One discussion will be on how to make motion design seem alive and vibrant – This is of course closely related to correspondance between music and movement, and I’m really excited to see what I end up with! – It will be a huge challenge to suddenly have to explain, in words and formulaes, what have normally just come naturally…

Fresh from our hands comes this brand new programme presentation for the TV 2 Charlie programme “Spørg Charlie” (Ask Charlie). This is the second running of the popular talkshow and the new graphics had to reflect a more timely and stylish content on the show – So.. have a look!

Thank you For Smoking
Movie Tip
You should really go see the movie Thank You For Smoking. It´s a laugh, and at the same time it´s a fantastic voyage in spin and damage control.

Yesterday STUPID did live visuals at the amphi-stage outside the beatiful exhibition complex Brandts Museum. The band – Electronica vs. Strings is a group of really talented local musicians who fuses classical instrumentation like strings and pianos with electronica and electronic beats and smashes it all up, into a really fantastic jazz-electro-universe.
The concert was brought in cooperation with the 21st International Odense Film Festival, so we can only hope that they were watching as well as listening…

E-motives in Brussels
Daniel has been invited to speak at “E-Motives” in Bruxelles in spring 2007. It seemed like a really great conference, hosted by the Sint Lukas Academy for Visual Arts, and we are proud to be a part of this years line-up, featuring the fantastic design collective Pleix and the renowned Base Design to name a few. In the invitation they wrote:
“E-Motives” – in all their possible interpretations – will be an attempt to capture the realm of the emotional, the e-world and the dimensions of movement ?á?í?è both physical and spiritual.
We are still a bit freaked out by that description, but it sounds really great, doesn’t it!? We just can’t wait.
Daniel spoke about “Play” at TYPO Berlin in May 2006 and will also be speaking at HK Grafisk in Aarhus in January.
More info will follow.
24 seconds of fame
We have heard that, at the end of Markus Schmidt’s relentless coverage of danish tv-promotion at the Danish TV festival, words like: “This is how it should be done” and “I´m speechless” was said just before he showed our trailer for the 5th season of 24… Well – So are we! And we can still feel the warmth inside. Fantastic.
