For the past decade, Designmuseum Danmark has been on a rebranding journey, aiming to become one of the world’s leading design museums. As a part of the process, they enlisted us to bring their new brand identity and communication strategy alive online, and make the museum more inviting and open to the public.

We helped shape a coherent visual brand identity across their platforms, making it easy for the visitors to recognize Designmuseum Danmark everywhere.

A Better Customer Experience

An inviting and shareable online experience for the users to explore before, during and after their visit to the Museum.

Radical Increase in Visitor Count

The number of visitors since we launched the site rose from 172.459 in 2015 to more than 288.000 in 2017. That’s more than 60% growth in just two years.

Making The Complex Simple

By cleaning up, restructuring and keeping a solid focus on tight navigation principles the website was transformed into a digital experience with the user in focus, making it easy to navigate, find relevant info and be inspired.

Making Design History a Digital Experience

For this to happen we used a “show, don’t tell” approach.

The frontpage was used as an inspiration, showcasing both exhibitions and focus areas, all discoverable through a continues scroll. The template we created for showing the exhibitions allowed the museum to use a color signature, setting a mood of the exhibition while also displaying multiple objects from the exhibitions using color, images, and video.
